2022- First Quarter

Whew! Those 1st 3 months of 2022 seem to have gone by in a flash. We clocked a few trips to the beach where we saw little to no progress on the house (until we did, stay tuned for that!) but still soaked up some salty air and ocean breezes, took the polar plunge, played football on the beach and performed endless handstands in the sand. Wilmington, NC has become our go-to overnight stay when going to Oak Island and I truly can’t believe we waited to so long to discover such a gem. We have our new favorite spots there- including the Brooklyn Cafe for the most delicious beignets and banana date balls- and I honestly would make any excuse to take a road trip to this quaint little riverfront city. On the homefront, our family graciously shared Covid amongst each other in late January, but bounced back quickly thank goodness. We got lots of southern snow, took an amazing trip to Snowshoe Mountain, WV with great friends, cheered on our favorite gymnast weekend after weekend, and I also had a birthday thrown in there. I predict that the next quarter will see much less snow, hopefully a more complete beach house, less gymnastics meets and more softball and flag football. And of course sun. And sand. And ocean breezes.

Fall 2021

My time with this family this past fall was perfect in every way. The sun shined on us, the foliage was beautiful and the family was so effortlessly beautiful and natural. Fall can be a very busy time of year and I know that I sometimes get too caught up in the hustle and bustle of busy season to appreciate all of the things around me. So today I am thankful for the ability to rest, reflect and be thankful for what we were able to create.

I loved meeting and photographing this special family.  I'm beyond blessed to have so many clients that trust me to come into their home to capture their lives during milestone events or even just life as it is at the time because when kiddos are little, they just don't keep.  I really feel the most in my wheelhouse when those families are comfortable being themselves and I can truly just capture the moments as they unfold.  I think it's natural for most people to feel that the best photos will be at a gorgeous location full of tall grass and pretty trees (and I don't totally disagree because god knows I love sun!), but some of my favorite ever sessions take place in clients homes, so I encourage you all to consider an in-home session when thinking about locations for your next family photos...

We had so much fun during this in home lifestyle session. Mom and Dad were amazing and I loved capturing all of the special moments with their sweet boys. I mean, look at those huge smiles. Pure joy! And can we talk about that gorgeous kitchen?!

Sunset family session {Charlotte NC Fort Mill Family Photographer}

When we met for our session back in August, it was as hot as a southern summer night can get.  Momma is a photog and of course she had her gorgeous family looking super amazing and picture ready.  And as any hot summer Charlotte day in August, any movement caused sweat to drip from everyone's foreheads, and as any family with little ones, sitting still is just not an option.  I remember this night vividly, but most importantly for the magic they brought to the session.  The golden hour light was amazing, they were gorgeous and their family chemistry the best.  Excited to share the images from their sunset session!
